Meet #55 - BEN!

Ben is a little staffie pit that had been chained for 8 years in Lafayette, IN. This rescue was orchestrated by our newest rep, Monica Alcorn.

Monica is an AC in Lafayette. Thanks to her efforts and contacting us we were able to find him a foster home in South Bend, IN.

Ben now enjoys living inside. He has his own dog bed and a stay at home dad that takes him for walks several times a day. He also has 2 pup sisters that think he's a blast to play with.

Ben was just neutered and completely vetted. Thankfully he is heartworm free! He has a few issues with toy/bone possession and some food aggression that his foster family is working with him on.

His new foster mom just loves him and is insisting to go on all home visits for anyone that wants to adopt him. She wants to make absolutely sure he only goes to the best home. Don't we all! He clearly has won them over!.

Michael Vick - To Play or Not
Does even the most villainous among us deserve 2nd chances?

The NFL has decided, for whatever insane reason, to allow Michael 'mass murderer' Vick back into the fold to return to life as usual. Is this a mistake on their part or is the outrage of animal activists everywhere unjust?

Ordinance Could Hinder Pets' Activity

Charleston, W.Va -- Pet owners might have to make some difficult choices if Kanawha County follows through on a plan to restrict how and when animals can be tied up.

County officials are working on an animal cruelty ordinance aimed at preventing dog owners from leaving their canines tethered for long periods of time.

But some animal owners say the restrictions cou
ld make it difficult to let their dogs outside.

Regulation Takes on Excessive Chaining of Dogs

The Larimer County commissioners on Monday unanimously approved changes to the county's animal control ordinance, including a prohibition on Society.

The regulation on tethering an animal is not intended to ban chaining dogs, said Capt. Bill Porter, director of animal control with the Larimer Humane Society.

The idea is to promote responsible pet ownership and keep dogs from being chained and confined to a limited area for "weeks, months, years," Porter told the commissioners.
