Tiger's New Fence

Building Tiger's New Fence - It Takes a VillageShari Strader, North Carolina DDB Representative worked long into the night with her sidekick Wendy to  build a fence for Tiger, a 24/7 chained Boxer/Pit Bull mix.

Tiger was chained most of the time until his mom, Angela Hudson, had to go into the hospital for surgery.  She asked the local SPCA if they could keep Tiger while she was in the hospital for several weeks.

Since Shari works part time at the SPCA, she was able to spend time with Tiger while he was there.  He was neutered, vetted, vaccinated, and heartworm tested, so by the time the fence was ready he was all set. Once home again, Angela was ready to get Tiger back but didn't want to have to chain him anymore.  That's when she contacted DDB Rep, Shari Strader and the rest is history.  View a slide show of Tiger's fencing project.

Dogs Deserve Better provides $200.00 in welded wire fencing for anyone willing to bring his or her dog inside to live. In cases of multiple dogs chained to the same area, we provide fencing even if they are not brought inside to live so they may play and sleep together.
Your help provides fencing to dogs like Tiger.

Success Story
Isaiah: Proof that Love Changes Lives

Isaiah after rescue

South Carolina - Isaiah was a cruelty case, who lived in a tiny FILTHY pen, suffered severe neglect, was emaciated, severe upper respiratory infection, blind in one eye from being beaten, fur so twisted it had his skin pinched, and was just in such horrible condition.

Isaiah before rescue

He had to be in the shelter for months due to the court case, but at least he gained a little weight there. So sad that these animals have to endure so much just to have what we consider basic!

Isaiah, now Job, has a wonderful new life, and his dad Ray says he is just happy and spoiled rotten!  Thank you Rhonda Sims South Carolina for making such a dramatic difference in this boy's life!

If you were touched by Isaiah's story, please donate to make a difference in a chained/penned dog's life.
Featured Adoptable
Davey, Illinois

Davey

Illinois -
Poor little Davey, he thought if only he was a good boy he could find his
forever family.

A 4-month-old yellow Lab mix chained as a wee-pup, rescued by DDB, vetted, fostered and trained was adopted to what we thought would be his perfect forever home.  Alas, in this world where a new kind of prejudice is taking over, we learned that he was being returned because someone thought there might be some Pit Bull in his breed.

After a week of canoeing on the lake, going for walks and sleeping with his new caretaker, Davey was returned quickly because the adopter was growing too attached to him.

So this little angel on 4 paws, who never chews on anything but his toys, is housebroken, comes when he's called, sticks by your side on off-leash walks, loves to play with other dogs and cats, adores children and has kisses for everyone he meets is returned not understanding why.  (We told him he was at camp.)

With fur soft as an angel's wings, and a heart to match, Davey is neutered, up-to-date on his shots and looking for a forever home deserving of such a precious boy.  Could that be yours?
